Casalino in Wachtendonk

The hotel looks nice inside and it looks like it's been recently renovated. The lady that works there is also very friendly. But unfortunately our stay was very bad. I phoned up to book two single rooms and was told there is non available but there is a apartment available. I specifically asked three times if it has two separate bedrooms. And every time the hotel manager assured me there is two bedrooms and a living room. Well we arrived that night only to find out it was one room and a "living room", which was just a sofa in the room, he turned into a bed. Unfortunately we arrived at night and was tired and only discovered the second bed was actually just a sofa. Otherwise we would have checked out immediately. I honestly think the guy just seen a opportunity to make double the money on us because he heard we are not German. The stay could have been good if he didn't lie to us. So I would not recommend this to anyone. Parking was also terrible. We arrived with a van and couldn't see any signs for parking so we really struggled to find any. Breakfast was ok. Standard bread rolls and a egg. i.e. minimum effort.

Excellent place to stay. Very friendly, easy going and helpful staff, rooms cosy and comfortable. Anything you need, just ask, the lady will do everything to help - she made us feel very welcome and we were able to relax after a long journey (they even had a cot bed available for our baby! ). 5/5 start from us! :)

Very nice.....they even helped me to use my own coffee....i will go there again on my next holiday.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Casalino, it sits in a very good location and has good parking facilities. My room, a single room, was spacious and the bathroom was more than adequate with a lovely large shower. Unusuall for most hotels, it has an excellent Internet connection. My biggest complaint, and this applies to all the German hotels I have ever visited, is they do not provide tea/coffee making facilities, and I find this sad, as to provide it could only provoke goodwill. The staff were very friendly, and helpful, and I enjoyed talking to them. The Hotel also has an extremely good kitchen with a large selection of dishes to choose from, and I had a good meal at a very reasonable price. A hotel I would visit again without hesitation.

This is a great place to stop if you are on your way somewhere, by bike or by car. Very friendly staff, good food and overall very affordable. Pleasant seating available outdoors during summers. Also nice for just having a drink or two.
